I want to burst out laughing because to be someone’s adult love you have to be an adult but Klaus is a petulant child who throws a tantrum whenever he doesn’t get anything and he’ll only give Caroline what she wants(freeing Tyler) if he gets something in return. Also he doesn’t know the first thing about love and thinks you can get it through manipulation, compulsion, a sire bond or if all that doesn’t work just throw a tantrum. And he has the audacity to say he saved her life when both times he put in danger. Get the hell out!

You know given how Elena was most human and gentle with Damon in 4x16 in the bedroom scene when she was telling Stefan and Caroline to stop bothering her and how she basically explained to Damon why she wants to be this way and told Damon she still wants him, and not just in the sexual sense, and how Naty said it doesn’t matter if Elena is a human or vampire or with emotions switched on or off, she is always going to want Damon, it takes “No matter what I do, I can’t shake him” to a whole different level. Even with her emotions turned off, she can’t shake him and not feel anything for him, even if it isn’t as potent before when her emotions were on but her feelings for him are still stronger than those she feels for everyone else. He just got under her skin to such an extent that he is very much part of her, no matter who she is.

Maybe I’m the only one, but I like this “phase” in the Elena/Delena’s journey. Elena is a vampire and at the moment she’s in her “turn-it-off” stage. Almost every vampire goes through this at least once in their existence.

She’s very much careless/carefree. She wants to have fun. She doesn’t really feel. She’s in touch with her vampire nature very much at the moment. The part who wants to feed, to have fun and not to really care.

Damon knows this phase really well. He knows what it means to just want to enjoy being a vampire and not to care. Of course he likes this part of her. They could just travel, have fun, being vampires and enjoy their time. Of course this is appealing.

But in the long run or even in the “short” run, I don’t really believe it’s what he wants or what he prefers. Damon is the type that accepts and loves every part of Elena (good and bad), he said it himself “I’m fine with her either way”. But he was still very much ready to look for the cure for her.

Now the sirebond is kind of “off” because Elena doesn’t feel and the sirebond was there in the first place because of her human feelings. Still, Damon was very insecure about it. He was tormented by the thought of her being with him just because of the sirebond. Now he doesn’t have this doubt ‘cause the sirebond doesn’t work so he’s sure that if she wants to be with him it’s because it’s what she wants.

Still, I think it’s still not enough for him. He doesn’t want Elena not to feel permanently. I don’t believe for a second he “prefers” her this way. He likes her this way. And he probably wants for the two of them to enjoy some fun time together, but he fell in love with a very much caring Elena. He can accept and like every version of her, but he knows that right now she’s showing just a part of herself and not the whole thing. And he loves every side of Elena.

He wants her to care again. I just think at the moment he wants for them to have a good time. And also probably sharing a part of himself, the time when he was in New York with Will.

As for the “sex” part on the rooftop, it’s my opinion, but I don’t think they will have sex. I also believe there will be some kind of angst during the episode or later in the episode. Probably because Damon will want her to feel and she doesn’t really want at the moment. It’s very much a reversal of the roles.

ps: plus it’s a vampire show, every once in a while I like that they’re actually behaving like vampires. It’s a bit different from the usual stuff.

This is a really tough book to review because it’s the last book in my favourite trilogy and I’ll try not to break out in tears as I write this.

First of all, I want to address the continuing theme of sacrifice that is present throughout all three books. I thought this tied the story together nicely and was very successful in illustrating the kind of power and control that love has over people.
